FESTIVE PASSION FRUIT SURPRISE

INGREDIENTS:

 5 Passion fruits

4 Cups of warm water

3 Cups watermelon juice (1 ½ lbs.)

2 Lemons or ½ cup of lemon juice

2 Cups of light syrup (2 cups of water and white or granulated sugar)

½ Teaspoon of sea salt

1 Tablespoon honey

2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

 

Method:

  1. Combine 2 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Cut passion fruits into halves and remove seeds and pulp from fruits.
  3. Pour warm water over seeds and pulp. Mix well and allow to cool.
  4. Strain off liquid to be used and discard the seeds and pulp.
  5. Peel base and remove seeds from watermelon. Cut into cubes. Using a blender, blend to make juice.
  6. Cut lemons into halves and remove seeds and juice.
  7. Combine all ingredients, strain and stir well. Serve chilled or with crushed ice.

Variation: This beverage can be mixed with Vodka for adult consumption.
